Monday 24th September we kicked off our football season at wood Lane. First up was St. Teresa’s where we narrowly missed out in a high scoring game finishing 4-3 to the hosts. Next up was St Edmunds which was much more successful holding on to a 1-0 lead. Everyone played extremely well and had a great time!
Last week, the children were writing their own stories about a mysterious creature that finds itself in a strange place!
The children were exploring different settings and using their descriptive language to build expanded noun phrases. They were fantastic at demonstrating all of their vocabulary and enjoyed getting to play around with words to form the best descriptive noun phrases.
Later, we used all of our new vocabulary to write our stories. We were very happy with them!
Year 5 have started to get in touch with our partner school in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We sent them an email and have received an exciting reply! We have started to notice the similarities and differences in our school days are. We have also been researching the country and region as well! You can read our correspondence to date below:
Year 1 had some special visitors in the classroom today! Police officers from Nechells Police station came to talk to the children about their important job they do in the community. Louise and Rob also showed the children the special clothes and gear they have to wear, and the children even had a chance to try it on too!
