This week in Year 6 have been looking at Self-Control as one of the Fruits of the Spirit.
We looked at the definition of self-control and how we could best display it. We set up some scenarios and carried out some role play. We also discussed the time when Jesus was tempted in the Wilderness and showed an abundance of self-control.
It has been great to have the children back this week, they seem so keen and focused. We were excited to hear we had an International link with a school in India. In design and technology this week, we were looking at making Dia de Muertos as part of our ‘Hola Mexico’ topic. We had to draw our designs onto felt and cut out two identical felt skulls. We then had to join both sides together with blanket-stitch or over-stitch. Then it was stuffed with kapok.
The skulls were decorated with sequins to replicate the Dia de Muertos
On Monday we went to Woodlands activity centre in Streetly. It was an action packed day full of adventure and thrills. The children were full of energy and raring to go.
