Year 6 World Cup

Today, Year 6 took part in a inter-school competition at The Hub, in Perry Barr. It was a great morning of football and all the St Clement’s teams played well. Unfortunately, we didn’t make the finals but we had a very enjoyable morning. Man of the match was Tyler Billingham-Roberts , who was outstanding in defence and Ali Abubakr  made some exceptional saves.

St Clement’s Multi Sports Morning

On Friday St Clement’s invited 3 schools to the Aston Villa Academy building for a multi sports morning. All the children took part in a number of sports such as football, handball, dodgeball, coneball and rounders. It was great to see all the children competingDSC_0561 DSC_0685 DSC_0703 DSC_0743 DSC_0808 DSC_0759 DSC_0640 DSC05458 DSC05490 DSC_0818

and making lots of friends in the process. A big thank you to St Michael’s and Grestone Academy for attending.

Birmingham School Games

On Wednesday 31st January 2018, three of our children took part in the ‘Birmingham School Games Talent Competition’. It was held at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Several talents were displayed including a guitar solo, a vocal performance of ‘How Far Ill Go’ and a fantastic gymnastics performance which earned a gold medal and first place! All the children represented the Academy to the highest level and showed what super stars they are!DSC_0018 DSC_0037 DSC_0049 DSC_0056 DSC_0057

Sporty Year 5

Over the past three weeks we have been attending King Edward Grammar School’s sports track. We had such a good time and were sad it was our last week. We have taken part in lots of different sports. We have played cricket, rounders and athletics.

We were very surprised that they had a separate area for sports that wasn’t near their school.

We asked Year 5 what they thought:

“I liked being on a post in rounds because I got people out,” Charlie

School Trip to the Community Sports HUB

Friday 19th MayDSC_0923 DSC_0776 DSC_0694 DSC_0566 DSC_0516 DSC_0483 Years 1 to 6 went to the Community Sports HUB to take part in sporting activities such as cricket, rounder’s, football, tennis and boxing. Everyone took part in each activity for 45 minutes. Despite the damp weather lots of fun was had by all. It was great to see all the children showing off what they had learnt in their PE lessons. The teachers have said that it was a fantastic day and great to see the children demonstrating their skill set out side of the classroom. This was great for the children’s physical development and we look forward to having more days like this next year.

Samir Y4 “My favourite sport was the tennis because we had lots of space to play which we don’t normally get in school.”

Tavani Y4 “My Favourite sport was cricket because we don’t normally play big games and I won a medal.”

Amira Y3 “I liked the football because it was really good playing on a proper grass pitch”

Reuben Y5 “Boxing was my favourite because the gym was really nice and I enjoyed using the bags.”

Sports Day Fun in Y3

What a fantastic day! Y3 have taken part in a whole school sports event at the Sports Hub. The day started with tennis, then onto rounders and indoor games before lunch! After lunch it was cricket, boxing and football.

Medals were awarded at each activity to children demonstrating positive sporting behaviours and putting in 100% effort – even when the task was difficult.

Take a look at some of our proud medalists in Y3 🙂
