This week we have continued to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly through the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.
The children have ordered the life cycle and wrote all about it.
Here are some photos of the children acting out the life cycle!
On Thursday and Friday we spoke about the Royal Wedding. The children really enjoyed learning about Prince Harry and Meghan. Some children even wrote a story about their wedding! On Friday the children dressed up in red, white and blue.
Over the past two weeks Reception have been reading the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.
From the story we have written lists, spoken about and sorted healthy and unhealthy foods, made our own books, sequenced the story, written sentences and so much more!
The children have also learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly and have learnt a new song!
Hopefully we will find some caterpillars and butterflies around school soon!
This week we have been reading the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’. The children really enjoyed reading this book and creating story maps and writing all about it.
We spoke about our favourite fruits and tasted some! We tried pineapple and avocado and mango!
Some of the children created their own story maps!
Today in Reception we held our first Reading Together session. We will continue to do this session every Friday.
It is a chance for parents and carers to read to their child and change their library book.
Thank you to everyone who came along today. The children absolutely loved it!
We are all very excited to have the eggs again this spring!
One has started to hatch!
The children have began to learn about the life cycle of a chick from finding out information using the computer and reading books.
Last week we did lots of work around Mother’s Day. The children all said why they love their mum and painted fabulous pictures of their mums. They also made cards and learnt songs to sing for our assembly.
Thank you to all the mothers, aunts, sisters, grandmothers, and everyone else who attend our celebration on Friday.
We would like to say a special thank you to Mrs Ali for making the delicious cakes!
We hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day.
