Reception’s trip to the Nature Centre!

Today Reception went to visit the animals at the Nature Centre in Edgbaston. We saw monkeys, meerkats, parrots, lemurs, wallabies, goats, snakes and many more animals. The children loved seeing the different animals and enjoyed playing in the play area after. Throughout the week we will be researching about the animals we saw and will write some facts about them.
Well done to Reception for behaving so well on our trip and representing St. Clement’s really well!

Health Week in Reception

During ‘Health Week’ we covered lots of different areas of being health. We discussed exercise, how it makes us feel and the effects it has on our bodies. We did different exercises outside. We spoke about healthy eating and the children wrote healthy and unhealthy lists and sorted different foods. We also had a parent workshop during the week and the children made a healthy sandwich with their parents and carers. We were really proud of the children for trying lots of different foods!

Reception’s Sports Morning!

This morning Reception had a fantastic time in the MUGA with Mr Burton. They did a running race, egg and spoon race, throwing and catching and an obstacle course. They had so much fun and all received a gold medal for taking part. Thank you to parents and carers for being a great audience, it really meant  a lot to the children. And a big thank you to Mr Burton for organising!

Well done Reception!

Jack and the Beanstalk

This week Reception have been reading the story Jack and the Beanstalk. The children have enjoyed acting out the story, retelling it and sequencing events. We also received a letter telling us that Jack is missing! The children created missing posters to help find Jack. Later in the week we found out that Jack was on holiday! He had send us a postcard and we wrote him one back.

Dress up day in Reception!

During ‘Into Faith Week’ we have spoken all about us and what makes us special. The children have spoken about their religion and faith. On Friday, we had a dress up day where the children and some parents wore their special clothes. Parents and carers joined us for a craft morning and spoke about their traditional clothing and their faith.
