Another great session at St. Clement’s Stay and Play. This week we had new families come along and join in the fun. The children enjoyed using the soft play area and playing with construction toys. The babies too had a fabulous time in the ‘Teddy Reading Pit’ – sharing stories with their parents and friends.
The first week back to St. Clement’s Stay and Play and the children couldn’t wait to get started. They enjoyed seeing each other after the holidays and spent sometime outside playing together. Song time is still a much loved part of the session and the children are becoming more involved in singing along.
Look out for next weeks session or come along and join in the fun!
You may have noticed some changes at the end of the playground over the summer. The area is being developed in to a natural play and Forest Schools area. The children have already been making full use of the area, as you can see by these photos.
This week was the last St Clement’s Stay and Play until September. The children again had a wonderful time exploring, singing, sharing and learning new things.
Please come along and support our community stay and play sessions, which will start again in the Autumn term. Keep a look out in the St Clement’s Newsletter for more information.
On Monday 3rd July Year 6 took part in a leavers service at St Martin’s church Birmingham. The children took part in the service with other Year 6 children from schools in the Birmingham borough. The service was led by the Bishop of Aston and the Big Assembly Singers. We provided a prayer and a poster showing ‘life in all its fullness’.
After celebrating we visited Macdonalds as a treat for lunch. Our day was fun.
This week we found out more about how to look after the chicks. We learned that chicks are greedy so you must not feed them too much! They need fresh water everyday. The brooder also needs to be cleaned. Mrs Grant showed us how to clean it then we all had a chance to stroke the chicks. We were all very gentle, they felt so soft!
On Monday the children in Nursery and Reception arrived at school to find some eggs had been delivered. They were in a special machine called an incubator. These were not eggs to eat, they were going to hatch!
The children watched in anticipation for signs of the eggs moving or cracking. On Wednesday morning we arrived to see that four chicks had hatched. The next day four more had joined them. We then moved the chicks into the brooder box. It has a light bulb in it to keep the chicks warm.
Thanks to the sunshine, we enjoyed some time outside this week. The children were able to experience new things and interact with some of our Early Years children. The water play was very popular, which caused a few sad faces when it was time to come inside.
Again song time was enjoyed by all. This week we danced the morning away to ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ and ‘If you’re Happy and You Know it’.
Come and join the fun Wednesdays, 9.00am – 10.00am, St Clement’s School Hall.
