This week in year 1/2 computing we looked at basic computer skills, and discussed the question “What is a computer?” We then talked about how computers help us to learn.
This week in PHSE the children have looked at the topic ‘Friendship’. They’ve talked about how to build relationships and how to get along with each other.
The children got into small groups and took part in role play to demonstrate that girls and boys can play with each other and not just in separate boy/girl groups and still get along well together.
Year 3 computing we started off by getting all the children to independently log on to their user name and password, which they used for the first time. We then discussed with the whole class on what we are going to be doing in computing this term and getting them ready for their first lesson on coding.

Year 4
Today in computing the children created a script that creates buttons that draw different shapes when clicked.
In this week’s 6’s and 7’s session we talked about each of us being a special, growing person with personal strengths on which to build. We looked at how we are alike and also learnt that each of us is unique.
Children drew pictures of themselves doing something they are good at. These activities helped the children to get to know each other and become comfortable working together as a group.
Year 1/2 (12-09-17), Year 3 (13-09-17), Year 4 (14-09-17)
In Year 1 this week we did circle time on transitioning. We discussed if children had any worries or concerns about going into their new class in September.
